The Town of Wakaw, in partnership with our title sponsor Wheatland Express, welcomed over 100 guests to Wakaw and the Wakaw Lake Regional Park for the 32nd Annual SUMA Golf Tournament on July 7th and 8th, 2022!  

Our guests visited our businesses, enjoying a number of the great shopping experiences of our downtown core. Additionally, guests experienced and thoroughly enjoyed the Wheatland Express Excursion Train on July 7th. This award winning tourism experience hosted our event social, giving guests the unique experience of enjoying the beautiful countryside from the rail line.  The guests visited “Little Big Town” when they disembarked from the train, giving guests a little glimpse into the past. 

The golf tournament was hosted at Wakaw Lake Regional Park’s beautiful nine-hole course. The course provided a beautiful backdrop to the event that saw 82 golfers compete for the coveted SUMA championship. The pro-shop and course maintenance crew absolutely hit a hole-in-one with the quality of experience they provided our guests.  Additionally, our guests enjoyed a wonderful homemade burger from Jane, Josh, and their staff at the clubhouse’s Crooked Club.
