Wakaw Recreation Centre
The Wakaw Recreation Centre is a spacious, air-conditioned and accessible community facility available for weddings, celebrations, meetings, community events, business functions, trade shows, and more.
Recent building upgrades have focused on improving accessibility and comfort for guests, helping make the Rec Centre a welcoming venue for events of all sizes.
Accessible Facility
The Wakaw Recreation Centre offers several accessibility features, including:
- Accessible front entrance and upgraded doors
- Upgraded accessible washrooms
- Elevator access between levels
- Wheelchair-accessible event spaces
Hall & Event Space
The main hall provides plenty of room for both large and small events and is equipped with tables and chairs.
The space is well suited for:
- Weddings and receptions
- Anniversaries, reunions and celebrations
- Fundraisers and community events
- Annual General Meetings
- Business meetings and functions
- Trade shows and markets
- Bridal and baby showers
- Christmas parties and staff events
- Other private and public gatherings
The hall has a legal capacity of 442 people without tables or seating. Capacity with seating provided is 360, with approximately 300 guests providing a comfortable event setup.
Licensed Commercial Kitchen
The Wakaw Recreation Centre features a licensed commercial kitchen available for catered events, food preparation, community functions, weddings, and other gatherings.
Kitchen access can be added to your event rental depending on your needs. When booking, let us know whether you will be using a caterer, preparing food on site, or simply require the kitchen for serving and food preparation so we can help determine the appropriate setup.
Please note: The kitchen does not include place settings, cookware, pots, pans or other cooking supplies. Commercial-size coffee and tea urns are available.
Liquor at Events
Events involving alcohol may require the appropriate permit or licensing through the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA).
Please discuss liquor service when making your booking so that the appropriate requirements can be determined before your event.
